Community

We are keen to support our local communities. In particular we have played at many schools where youngsters have enjoyed seeing live music performed before their very eyes, sometimes for the very first time. Making it fun is an ideal way to encourage new musicians to learn which is so important for the future.  Below are some pictures to give an idea of our work so just contact us if you think we can add to your local event. We will tailor our repertoire to suit your particular needs.

Performing with Phoenix Choir at Christmas 2023

2023 saw new members join the band and a number of concerts. For Christmas we played with the Phoenix choir in a well attended performance and later as part of St John's Carol Service.  Earlier in the year we played outdoors at Morcambe,  indoors for the U3A and a local school. Repeat performances are the best indicator that we are getting something right!

Sir Ken Dodd was our Patron
so it was a real honour to play at his funeral.

We were positioned at the door of the Cathedral and his cortege arrived early so we played a complete set before the service. After the service we moved to where all would pass by and played his favourite tunes (particularly Happiness) which pleased the crowds.

A sad but memorable day for the band.

We have since received a delightful letter of thanks from Anne, his widow who has also made a very generous donation to the band. It really touched us that she made time at this sad moment to think of others.
